Navid has been a Speech Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) certified member since November 1995. Currently, he is an associate professor of audiology in the School of Audiology & Speech Sciences at the University of British Columbia (UBC), where he has been since July 2002.  Dr. Navid Shahnaz is a highly regarded expert in the field of audiology, specializing in diagnostic techniques for assessing middle ear function. Holding a Ph.D. in Audiology, he has dedicated his career to advancing the understanding and application of cutting-edge technologies in the domain of hearing health.

 Dr. Shahnaz's research and clinical focus revolve around implementing Wideband Acoustic Immittance (WAI) in evaluating middle ear function across diverse populations, including newborns, children, and adults, and developing protocols for hidden hearing loss. His research interests also focus on assessing and rehabilitating the balance systems using vestibular evoked myogenic potentials and computerized dynamic posturography (CDP).  His work has significantly contributed to the integration of WAI as a valuable tool in audiological assessments.

 As a seasoned professional, Dr. Shahnaz has conducted extensive research in the field and actively translated his findings into practical applications. He is recognized for his expertise in operating diagnostic equipment, particularly wideband acoustic immittance systems.

 Dr. Shahnaz's commitment to advancing the field of audiology is evident in his continuous pursuit of knowledge, his collaborative research approach, and his dedication to educating and training professionals in the effective use of advanced diagnostic technologies.
