Michelle Carr, Ph.D.,

Michelle Carr, Ph.D., is an Assistant Research Professor in the Université de Montréal  Department of Psychiatry and Addiction, and the Center for Advanced Research in Sleep Medicine.

Her research includes studies designed to answer fundamental and clinical questions about dreams, including the neurocognitive functions of sleep and dreams in emotion regulation, memory consolidation, and mental health. She also conducts studies on the neurophysiology and phenomenology of sleep disorders and nightmares in PTSD and other clinical populations. Her current research will focus on the presence of disturbed sleep and dreaming in deaf individuals, and links to waking mental health.
