Marlene Bagatto

Marlene Bagatto is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the National Centre for Audiology at Western University. The research in her Pediatric Audiology Strategies and Systems Laboratory focusses on policy and practice integration for infant and child hearing. Dr. Bagatto develops and implements standard practice protocols for pediatric hearing health care that are used widely. She also has research interests in the management of unique pediatric audiology cases such as mild and unilateral hearing loss and children who are candidates for bone conduction hearing devices. Dr. Bagatto has worked with several provinces to develop and maintain their infant hearing programs. She is Chair of the Canadian Infant Hearing Task Force which advocates for equitable infant hearing health care across Canada and is the 2023 recipient of the Marion Downs award in Pediatric Audiology from the American Academy of Audiology.
